Compounded: mixed by a pharmacy, not FDA-approved

Where a card says “2 of 3”, the others quote the medication alone with a membership billed on top, or only an introductory or with-insurance price: they are not in these figures, and the medication’s page lists them.

Questions

Questions about GLP-1 prices

The answers are written from the table above, so they change when the prices do.

  • How much do GLP-1 medications cost without insurance?

These are cash prices without insurance, one per provider per medication, each read from the provider's own page. Brand-name medications run from $149 to $1,828 a month across the providers we track. Compounded medicines run from $69 to $399 a month. A compounding pharmacy mixes them and they are not FDA-approved, so the two ranges are not the same purchase.

  • Who charges the lowest price for each GLP-1?

The lowest monthly price we track is $69 a month for compounded semaglutide (month to month), at Embody (a verified partner), read October 25, 2026. The lowest brand-name price is $149 a month for Foundayo (0.8 mg, month to month), at LillyDirect, read October 26, 2026. Providers are compared by price alone; whether a provider pays us plays no part. The cheapest page lists every provider's plans in price order.

  • How often are these prices updated?

Every price in the index was read from a provider's own page and is dated: the cards show when the lowest price was read, the chart shows the newest reading for each medication (the newest overall is October 26, 2026), and the CSV dates every plan. A price we have not re-read in 90 days is left out until it is checked again.

  • Does the index show how prices have changed?

Yes. The price moves list shows the most recent changes between two confirmed readings since July 30, 2026, newest first. We state no trend: the history is too short to read a direction from.

  • Why do GLP-1 prices differ so much between providers?

Three things explain most of the gap: whether the medicine is brand-name or compounded, whether the plan is billed month to month or prepaid for several months, and what the price includes (the medication alone, the clinician visit, shipping). Each provider's review page lists which applies to each plan.

  • Can I download the data behind this chart?

Yes. The CSV has one row per plan: the medicine, its type and active ingredient, the provider, the plan, the monthly price, the billing months, the date we read it and the page it came from. It is free to reuse under CC BY 4.0 if you credit glp1update and link to this page.

Method

How it is built

  • One price per provider

For each medication, a provider's lowest standing plan that includes the medication. A company with nine plans cannot move the middle.

  • What is left out

Membership fees, drug prices that need a membership billed on top (Ro, Sesame, Hims), and introductory or with-insurance prices. The cheapest page shows those under their own label.

  • Only current prices

Every price is the provider's own, without insurance, and dated. One we have not re-read in 90 days is left out until it is checked again.

  • Compounded is listed apart

A compounding pharmacy mixes these medicines and they are not FDA-approved, so they sit under their own heading and are not compared with the brand-name ones as if they were the same purchase.
