Two programmes, priced differently

Noom runs two tracks and they are easy to conflate. The branded track is $99 a month and explicitly excludes the cost of medication. The compounded microdose track bundles medication but is priced separately, and Noom states it is "not available in all 50 states" without naming which.

If you are comparing Noom against a provider whose price includes the drug, make sure you know which track you are looking at. The $99 figure does not buy medication.

The compounded disclosure is softest where buyers read it

Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or manufacturing quality before they are sold, and a compounded product is not a generic of an approved brand.

Noom discloses this — but not consistently. Its page branded "GLP-1 Access and Transparency" states "We prescribe generic, compounded, and brand name medications" while containing none of the phrases "not approved by the FDA", "not been reviewed", or "does not review". What it offers instead is FDA-adjacent reassurance: references to an "FDA green list" and "FDA-registered facilities". A facility being registered with the FDA is not the same thing as a drug being approved by it, and on a page whose title promises transparency, that substitution is the thing to notice.

Three different disclosure wordings exist across Noom's product pages. The softest is a microdose footnote that leads with the FDA-registered-facility framing.

Marketing and terms disagree on insurance

The Med page says "we will work to help maximize your coverage." The terms say all healthcare services "are only available on a cash-pay basis", with an explicit Medicare and Medicaid exclusion. Those cannot both be the operative rule, and the one in the terms is the one that binds.

Cancelling

"Cancel any time" is qualified: you must cancel by 11:59pm Eastern the day before your billing date, and there are no partial-period refunds. Miss that by an hour and you have bought another period.

Pharmacy lock-in

Compounded prescriptions are locked to Noom's own pharmacy partner. That is worth understanding before you start, because it means the prescription is not portable — if you want to leave, you are not taking that prescription with you to a cheaper pharmacy.

What we could not establish

Noom does not publish which states its compounded track excludes, saying only "not available in all 50 states". We could not find a list, so we have not guessed at one. Nor could we establish whether injection supplies are included.

The wider context on compounded

The shortage pathway that permitted large-scale compounding of semaglutide and tirzepatide ended in 2025. In April 2026 the FDA proposed permanently excluding these molecules from the list of substances outsourcing facilities may compound in bulk; comments closed in June 2026 and no final determination has been published. A compounded track is therefore exposed to a regulatory decision that has not yet landed, in a way a brand-only track is not. That is a supply risk, not a safety claim, and it applies to every compounded provider on this site.
