Best for
Readers who are comfortable committing to a year for the lower monthly rate, and who will get the total, the billing schedule and the month-to-month price in writing before checkout.
What to watch out for
The monthly price Oak lists is the price of a 12-month plan, and that is what to understand before you pay.
Oak's 6 and 12-month plans cost less per month than its month-to-month plan in exchange for committing to the full term. Leave a plan billed every three months early and you pay back the discount on the months you received, up to a maximum of one quarterly payment. Leave a plan paid in full early and the unsent months are refunded minus that discount. Oak prints the monthly rate and not the total, and the pages we track do not say what a shorter plan costs. Get the total, the billing schedule and the month-to-month price in writing before checkout.

Oak prints $119 per month on a 12-month plan, not the total or what a shorter plan costs; it is a starting price and the price is confirmed before checkout.
What a year costs
The monthly price times the charges in a year (twelve, or thirteen where a provider bills every 4 weeks), for plans that include the medication. Each plan is counted at the dose and price it lists, for all twelve months; first-month offers, refill-window changes and campaign prices are not applied.

Oak's listed monthly prices are the prices of a 12-month plan, and leaving that plan early means paying back the discount on the months you received, up to one quarterly payment if you're billed every three months. Once an order or refill has been sent to the pharmacy, it is final and non-refundable.
What does Oak's monthly price assume?
Oak lists compounded semaglutide at $119 a month and compounded tirzepatide at $185 a month. Both figures are for a 12-month plan, with the medication and the consultation included.
Oak prints the monthly figure and not the total. A year at those rates is $1,428 and $2,220, but that is the monthly rate multiplied by twelve, not a charge Oak quotes. Use it to size the commitment, not to predict the bill.
Oak calls these starting prices and says the price is confirmed before checkout. It does not say what a shorter plan costs, and nothing on the pages we track says whether the price moves with your dose.
What does leaving a 12-month plan early cost?
Oak's 6 and 12-month plans cost less per month than its month-to-month plan, in exchange for committing to the full term. They are billed either every three months or in full at checkout, and leaving early works differently for each.
If you're billed every three months, you agree to pay back the discount on the months of treatment you received. The payback is the difference between Oak's month-to-month price when you bought and your plan's monthly price, multiplied by the months received. It is capped at one quarterly payment.
If you paid in full at checkout, cancelling early stops the shipments not yet sent to the pharmacy and refunds those months, minus the discount on the months you received. Shipments already sent are final.
The month-to-month price sets the size of the discount, and Oak doesn't print what a shorter plan costs. Ask for it in writing before you commit.
Can you cancel any time?
Oak says patients can cancel at any time. Its terms name three ways: the patient portal, email or phone.
Monthly and 3-month plans cancel with no fee, provided you cancel before the next charge. Cancelling stops all future charges and any shipment not yet sent to the pharmacy.
The 12-month plans listed here aren't in that group. Leaving one early costs the discount on the months you received, as described above. On a 12-month plan, read the promise as you can stop whenever you like, not that stopping is free.
Plans continue on the same schedule until cancelled. Oak sets most prescriptions up as subscriptions that renew on a recurring basis, and it charges the payment method on file at each refill.
Can you get a refund once Oak sends an order to the pharmacy?
Not once it has gone. After an order or refill has been sent to the pharmacy, it is final: it can't be cancelled and isn't refunded. Medication that has been dispensed or shipped can't be returned or refunded either.
One exception is a provider declining the order. If a provider doesn't approve your order or refill, any authorization on your card is released and any amount collected is refunded in full. Outside that, Oak's terms say its fees and charges are non-refundable apart from what a stated refund policy allows.
Does insurance or Medicare pay for any of this?
No. Oak doesn't accept commercial insurance, isn't enrolled with Medicare or Medicaid, and won't bill federal or state health care programs. Its terms also say Medicare and Medicaid don't cover its products and services, and that it won't submit claims to those agencies or to your health insurance. Plan on paying out of pocket.
Which states does Oak serve?
The pages we track don't list the states Oak serves. Check that your state is covered before you spend time on the assessment.
What we'd do first
Ask Oak three things in writing before you commit to the 12-month plan: the total charge, whether you would pay every three months or in full up front, and the month-to-month price. The billing choice decides what leaving costs, a payback capped at one quarterly payment or a refund with the discount taken off, and the month-to-month price tells you how large that discount is.
Then treat the pharmacy handoff as the point of no return. Until an order has been sent, cancelling stops it on the plans where Oak says so; after that it is final and the money is spent.
If you'd rather not commit to a year, ask what a shorter plan costs before you decide, because the page doesn't say. Monthly and 3-month plans cancel with no fee before the next charge.

Who pays for the medication
Can insurance pay for it?
No. You pay Oak directly for the medication.

Cancellation and refunds
Cancelling and getting money back
What the provider's own terms say, with the quote behind each line.
How to cancel
Any time
By portal, email or phone; no fee on monthly and 3-month plans; sent orders still ship
Oak says patients can cancel at any time, through the patient portal, by email or by phone. Monthly and 3-month plans can be cancelled with no fee before the next charge, and cancelling stops all future charges and any shipment not yet sent to the pharmacy.
Refunds
Before pharmacy
Refunded in full if not approved; final once sent to the pharmacy
Fees and charges are non-refundable except where a refund policy says otherwise. Once an order or refill has been sent to the pharmacy, it is final: it cannot be cancelled and is non-refundable. Dispensed or shipped medication cannot be returned or refunded. If a provider does not approve an order or refill, any authorization on your card is released and any amount collected is refunded in full. On a plan paid in full, cancelling before the term ends stops shipments not yet sent to the pharmacy and refunds those months, minus the discount on the months you received.
Automatic renewal
Auto-renews
Charged to the card on file at each refill until you cancel
Oak sets most prescriptions up as subscriptions that renew on a recurring basis. At each refill it charges the payment method on file and sends the prescription to the address on the account, and plans continue on the same schedule until you cancel.
Prepaid commitments
Discount payback
Leaving a 6 or 12-month plan early repays the discount, up to one quarterly payment
Oak's 6 and 12-month plans cost less per month than its month-to-month plan in exchange for committing to the full term. Multi-month plans are billed either every three months or in full at checkout. Cancel a 6 or 12-month plan billed every three months before its term ends and you agree to pay back the discount on the months of treatment you received: the difference between the month-to-month price when you bought and your plan's monthly price, multiplied by the months received, up to a maximum of one quarterly payment.
